The Sande Society in West Africa

During Docent training yesterday at Cincinnati Art Museum are subject matter was African art.  All my close friend know, that my true passion is historic furniture.  However the Sande Society customs and traditions are very interesting. The Sande Society is the only African culture group which allows women to wear mask during rituals and observances.http://www.oup.com/us/companion.websites/9780195189766/student_resources/Supp_chap_mats/Chapt07/Secret_Soc_West_Africa
