On Exhibit: Brooklyn Museum of Art Witness: Art and Civil Rights in the Sixties
The Brooklyn Museum of Art is hosting an exhibit about art and the civil rights movement in the sixties. If you are in NYC this would be a wonderful exhibit to see. Artist like Norman Rockwell and Norman Lewis are included in this exhibit.

As a student of Political Science, from time to time I like to remind everyone that Russia and the Ukraine has always had divergent interests. So conflict between the two ethic groups is as common as having a cup of tea. Third party intervention should be practical and after all negotiations has ceded to exist.
Bradford Pear Tree
The last 48 hours has been rough due to a tree falling in my yard and causing havoc. The tree which made my day and half rough in the Bradford Pear. Known for falling under weight of ice and snow. The Bradford Pear did just that.

Yinka Shonibare
Sometimes you find an artist which is so interesting, you are compelled to research him and his artistic intent for his work. Yinka Shonibare is such an artist.
Whistler and Peacock Room
James Abbott McNeil Whistler was not a painter but worked in interior design as well. The Peacock Room was created for Frederick Leyland and Whistle's role was to make minor changes to the design of Thomas Jeckyll.
Frederick Leyland did not see the changes as minor. To see this example of Ango-Japanese art, you don't need to go to England. The Peacock Room is on exhibit at the Freer Gallery in Washington D.C.

Adele Bauer-Bloch at the Neue Galerie
Any lover of art must go to the Neue Galerie in New York City to see the iconic paintings by Klimt of Adele Bauer-Bloch. Retained by the Austrian government after the World Wars, the painting was brought at auction and brought the America. From this painting, you can tell Klimt came from a family of Jewlery makers and the use of gold in this painting is so breathtaking.
The focus of the Neue Galerie is Austrian art.

Who is Governor Robert Lowry of Mississippi?
The history of my family is tied to Governor Robert Lowry of Mississippi.
During the late 19th and early 20th my grandfather's family the Hilson were land holders in Mississippi. Like an African American family the house was burned and the family disappeared. My grandfather was a baby and his sister worked for the Governor at the time. She also disappeared. My grandfather Buster Lowry, Sr. stayed with Robert Lowry's family till he was of age and went on a joined the military. He never went back to Mississippi.
My father was his oldest son, Buster Lowry, Jr.
